Sports Chiropractic
Far more than your idea of standard chiropractic, Sports chiropractic encompasses understanding the movement patterns you do in sports activities and life in general. After a comprehensive evaluation of how you move, a "recipe" for treatment is designed. The recipe includes soft tissue treatments to ensure muscles and tendons are activating correctly, spinal adjusting to ensure a sound structure and specific exercises to strengthen the region and reduce/prevent the reoccurrence of the issue. While everyone may have a similar recipe, the ingredients are substantially different.
ART® Active Release Techniques
ART® is the most requested movement-based soft tissue massage technique. It is used to treat strains/sprains/tightness with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. A thorough evaluation including history, orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic exam is performed at the first visit to ensure you are a candidate who will best be served by the benefits of ART®. Please wear loose-fitting clothes or athletic wear. Please NO DENIM. If the issue is for lower extremity (knee, hip, ankle) please bring/wear shorts. If an upper body issue, please wear a sports bra or camisole if female; shirt may need to be removed if male.
Dry Needling
The goal of Dry Needling is to deactivate trigger points, reduce pain, and improve circulation to restore normal function. It is effective treatment for acute or chronic pain and sports-related injuries. A thorough evaluation including history, orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic exam is performed at the first visit to ensure you receive the best benefit from dry needling! Please wear loose-fitting clothes or athletic wear. Please NO DENIM. If the issue is for lower extremity (knee, hip, ankle) please bring/wear shorts. If an upper body issue, please wear a sports bra or camisole if female; shirt may need to be removed if male.
Exercise/Physical Therapy Session
Have you had an injury? The number one predictor of injury is previous injury. Learn the exercises to prevent recurrence.
Strengthen your core (so many are doing core exercises and still missing the target!) and prevent injury. Be pro-active by improving your exercise program and reducing your injury chances.
Please wear loose-fitting clothes or athletic wear.
Kinesiology Taping/Athletic Taping
The preferred taping method will be applied after discussion of patient's goal and injury assessment. Taping can improve sports performance, prevent injury and allows you to return to sport quicker. The kinesiology tape used can remain on skin up to 5 days. Athletic tape usually can remain on the skin for the event only. Be dressed and prepared to expose the area to be taped.
Consult - In-person
Does this sound like you? Your problem has been a bother for longer than a month. You are afraid something may really be wrong, but don't want to actually admit it. You are thinking maybe it will go away. But it hasn't! You should probably see a doctor, but that would make it a real, actual problem. OR...would it Will that elevate it to the level of serious You asked Dr. Google, but only got a random answer.
Consulting with a true (not virtual) health professional is a much better option. After consultation, many are relieved to find it is a manageable problem. BUT, please do not wait too long. Waiting to come in. Do it now! Stop waiting and do not make this into a bigger problem.
